The Urban Farm
What do you do when you are situated in the middle of a food desert? (provide hyperlink to the definition of a food desert) A food desert presents a two unique problems for members of the community. A food desert limits communities access to fresh food.
In addition, on every third Saturday of each month, the Founder, Mrs. Hannah Hawkins extends services to the community for the “Table of Mine” program which provides a hot, home cooked breakfast, clean clothing, haircuts, hygiene products and access to the Center’s food pantry to homeless individuals and families, also at no cost to recipients. At the Children of Mine Youth Center, we genuinely believe that “the cost of real love is no cost’.
